In Memoriam: Rev. Neil Bergman

Yesterday, July 16, 2026, the Rev. Neil Bergman passed away at age 76. Pastor Neil served as a longtime pastor at Wyndholme Christian Church in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, prior to retirement.

Originally from Alberta, he lived in Oregon and Kentucky as well before finally settling in Nova Scotia. He studied at Bushnell, University of Oregon, and University of Alberta before eventually studying religion at Lexington Theological Seminary and the Atlantic School of Theology.

Pastor Neil was involved deeply in every level of our church life, as a local pastor, with the Maritime area, and working with the Canadian church and the general church. He was deeply passionate about the wider Restoration movement and often strove to be bridge with independent Christian Churches, especially in his work with our shared ministry of Church of Christ Development Company.

He leaves behind his sons Karl and Andrew, as well as grandchildren, and many friends and former parishioners. We will share memorial arrangements in due time.

May he find peace in the company of our Lord and Saviour, reunion with those who left before him, and may God's consoling grace be with those of us who mourn him now.
