Brand Identity and Logo
Our logo is a red chalice with the St. Andrew’s cross, which visually communicates our commitment to frequent and open Holy Communion and our heritage among Scottish Christians. To the left is a stylized maple leaf to note our Canadian expression of our tradition. Use of both the red and alternative black logo is permitted for affiliated ministry use.
The red used in our logo is hexadecimal #DE1430 or RGB (222, 20, 48).
Our Name
Our historic legal name is the Christian Church in Canada. Our full name is the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Canada. We also frequently use, especially in social media, Canada Disciples for short. Note that it is “in” Canada, not “of” or “for.”
Our name in French is “l’Église chrétienne (Disciples du Christ) au Canada.” Note that French capitalization rules are different than in English. L’ should only be capitalized at the beginning of the sentence. É should always be capitalized even after a capital L’. The c in chrétienne is not capital as an adjective but the C in Christ is as it is a proper name. Parallel to English, please note it is always “au” Canada, no “du.”
