The United Church of Canada has been our full Communion partner since 2019. We have made the love of Jesus known beside each other in Canada for centuries, long before either of our current structures existed!

Canadian Council of Churches Toronto, Ontario

Since 1944, The Canadian Council of Churches has promoted Christian unity in word and in deed by calling diverse denominations together to work on ministry and mission in the world. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Canada is a founding member of the Council and it serves alongside more than 23 other participating denominations, who together represent over 85% of Canadian Christians.

Church of Christ Development Company Calgary, Alberta

The CCDC provides low-interest capital loans to congregational churches from several affiliations in Canada, that fit with its Statement of Beliefs and Practices. Through donations, conservative stewardship, and the blessings of Malachi 3:10, our starting fund of $4,000 has since grown to the point where CCDC has been able to provide low to medium-sized loans.

College of Churches of Christ in Canada Aurora, Ontario

Since 1927, the College of Churches of Christ in Canada has supported the education and training of Canadian Disciples seminarians, pastors, and lay leaders through prayers, scholarships, book bursaries, and ministry internships. Over the years, the College has collaborated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Canada to provide: keynote speakers during regional assemblies, funding for clergy and seminarians to attend General Assembly, and continuing education opportunities. More recently, the College supported the denomination's online Lay Leaders Education Program, which was launched during the pandemic. In these and many other ways, the College continues to live out its mission to equip leaders and build up the church!

Disciples Ecumenical Consultative Council Indianapolis, Indiana

The Disciples Ecumenical Consultative Council (DECC) was founded in 1979 as a council of member churches throughout the world from the Disciples of Christ, Churches of Christ, together with United and Uniting Churches which Disciples have joined, who have taken official action to join the DECC in supporting its stated goals. The DECC was established to further and strengthen the common calling of Disciples of Christ and Churches of Christ to visible unity and mission. It is not a legislative body but is intended to enable the churches to consult with each other about matters of Christian faith, witness and unity.

World Communion of Reformed Churches Hannover, Germany

United in Christ and rooted in the historic Reformed traditions, the WCRC with its member churches believe that Christian faith is responding to God’s call to meet spiritual needs and foster justice for all in the transformation of the world through the love of Jesus Christ.

Churches are often prophetic voices, especially in the face of injustices and in the midst of conflict. The WCRC accompanies its member churches, coming alongside in solidarity, lifting global voices in prayer, providing critical resources, raising awareness of lesser-known situations, and creating connections of support.

We are an Associate Member through our membership in the Disciples Ecumenical Consultative Council.

World Council of Churches Geneva, Switzerland

The World Council of Churches is a fellowship of churches which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the scriptures, and therefore seek to fulfil together their common calling to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is a community of churches on the way to visible unity in one faith and one eucharistic fellowship, expressed in worship and in common life in Christ. It seeks to advance towards this unity, as Jesus prayed for his followers, "so that the world may believe." (John 17:21) The World Council of Churches (WCC) is the broadest and most inclusive among the many organized expressions of the modern ecumenical movement, a movement whose goal is Christian unity.
