The National Pastor

What is the national pastor’s role?

The national pastor is a teacher and counsellor to the whole church, a pastor to our pastors, the chief executive officer of the national office, our representative to the binational College of Regional Ministers of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada, and our primary spokesperson to the media, political leaders, and other religious communities within Canada.

As our congregations are a covenant partners, the national church does not control their decisions, but the national pastor serves as a consultant to local congregations or clergy, assisting in difficult times and a connecting them to the wider church.

Unashamed of Disability Accomodations
